A Mearns woman, born in the same year as the outbreak of the First World War, has celebrated her century.
Mrs Jemima Dalgarno was born in Edinburgh on November 9, 1914.
She celebrated her 100th birthday with family in Fettercairn Village Hall and also at Queen Elizabeth Court (sheltered housing) where she has been a resident since September 13, 1991.
One of 13 children, Mrs Dalgarno spent most of working her life in private service - mainly at the Ramsay Arms in Fettercairn, where she had slept in the same bed that Queen Victoria used.
She moved to Fettercairn from Luthermuir when she was five and went on to have six children of her own.
Many congratulations from family and friends, plus all at ‘The Court.’
