A Stonehaven man who was diagnosed with Parkinsons two years ago is going to take on a forty mile cycle to raise money for Parkinsons UK.

Jim Banks, along with his daughter Melanie, is going to cycle from Stonehaven to Ballater via Aboyne, Finzean, Strachan and the Slug Road.

Mr Banks has always been a keen sportsman and likes to challenge himself. Despite his diagnosis two years ago, has continued to lead an active lifestyle and enjoys setting challenges for himself.

Parkinsons UK is striving to find a cure for this debilitating illness through Nationwide research projects, including projects in Aberdeen and Edinburgh.
