Police appeal after Portlethen Cemetery wreaths theft

Police Scotland are appealing for information following the theft of a number of wreaths stolen from graves at the Portlethen Church Cemetery.

Police have said that they believe the thefts happened in the last few weeks and have asked for anyone with information to come forward.

The wreaths were described as being holly with ‘various artificial flowers’ in them.

A Police spokesperson said: “The theft is believed to have happened between the Monday, December 1, and Monday the 22nd.

“They are described as being holly wreaths with various artificial flowers, including white roses and white lilies, and red or red tartan ribbons.

“Although the value of the wreaths is relatively low, these incidents can cause considerable distress to the victims who are paying their respects to loved ones over the festive period.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
