Police appeal for information on Marykirk garden thefts


Officers from the Laurencekirk Community Policing Team are investigating thefts of ornaments, plants and solar lights from two gardens in Marykirk which have occurred recently.

The thefts have occurred during the hours of darkness, with the first theft happening overnight between 11:15pm on Tuesday, May 24 and 10:00am on Wednesday, May 25 and the most recent between 1am and 3am on Tuesday, June 7.

The complainers have advised of sentimental links to particular stolen items which they wish to have returned.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “This is an unusual crime for the village, which is a close knit community, and officers are looking for assistance in tracing anyone believed to be involved.”
