A Mearns primary school has had a colourful makeover after the pupils got involved with painting a mural inside the school.
Redmyre School in Fordoun asked local artist, Sheila Moir, to help paint the mural.
Every teacher and pupil had a hand in the project.
Working with two pupils at a time, the wall took three weeks to finish with Sheila visiting the school two to three times a week.
Pupils’ and teachers’ names appear throughout the mural, with which the school have said they are thrilled.
Pupils were helped by Sheila with stencils as they painted the mural with her.
She also did the background to the mural, adding in some finer details such as the ladybugs and butterflies.
Sheila said it was great to work with the youngsters as her two children, Conall (10) and Kyla (8), also attend the school.
She said: “It’s been great fun and it was an honour to be asked to do this.
‘‘It’s been nice for the children to get involved, they have done a great job and it really brightens the corridors.”
A spokesperson for the school, which celebrated with a harvest festival last Thursday, October 9, said: “We are absolutely delighted with it.”
