A Stonehaven man has graduated university with his partner whom he met as part of his further education studies in Aberdeen.
24-year-old Scott Low from the town met his partner, 22-year-old Dennis Neville while studying at Gray’s School of Art and proudly watched each other collect their degrees.
The graduation ceremony took place at Aberdeen’s His Majesty’s Theatre on Friday, July 15.
Scott picked up a BA (Hons) in Communication Design and Dennis graduated with a BA (Hons) inn Fashion and Textile Design.
And now the pair are looking forward to planning their wedding.
They met in the first year at university, but it wasn’t until the second year that romance blossomed.
Scott said: “My time at Gray’s has been an amazing way to get to know myself as a person and find out where my skills lie.
“It’s been a bit stressful at times, but some amazing things have happened from being a student here.
“I’ve found the person I want to spend the rest of my life with and that’s a pretty amazing feeling. I never thought university would end on such a high and I’m very grateful to have Dennis by my side.
“Finding Dennis tops pretty much everything. However, over my time at RGU I have learnt a lot of skills that have set me up for the future.
“As a design student the most important thing for me is leaving university with a drive to keep on learning. Gray’s has provided us all with an excellent platform for the future and that’s something I don’t want to waste.”
He also thanked his family for being there for him.
“My family have been truly amazing, without them I wouldn’t be graduating and I will never be able to thank them enough.
“And of course, Dennis has been my rock over fourth year- we’ve definitely helped each other through; it’s been a three-legged race and we won.
“I think the biggest challenge has been trying to juggle university and life outside my studies. It is amazing how much real life can affect what happens at university.”
Dennis said: “Four years of educations has provided me with memories which cannot be forgotten. Above all, the greatest highlight is finding someone who can deal with all my stress.
“One of the oddest things was the thought of leaving with a degree, if I got one, never mind a fiancé.”
