The much enjoyed annual tea party for the listeners of ‘Speak o’ the Mearns’ took place on Saturday, September 21.
Together with the volunteers , the event was held at the Invercarron Resource Centre.
This was an ideal opportunity for the listeners to meet editors, readers, and administrators.
Unfortunately, the technicians were unable to be present but they were certainly given a mention by Margaret Wells who hosted the afternoon.
The committee very ably served delicious sandwiches and cakes and the teapot and coffee pot were constantly available for hot drinks.
David Martin provided the entertainment which included a ‘Guess the Tune’ competition which everyone enjoyed.
A spokespewerson said: ‘‘The tables were beautifully adorned and a special thank you must go to Joy Adams who provided the flower arrangements. We also welcomed Pamela Munro who was representing ‘Guide Dogs for the Blind’.
‘‘Christmas cards were also for sale and were being sold in aid of ‘The Talking Newspaper Association’.
‘‘It proved to be a very happy afternoon and was an ideal opportunity for listeners and volunteers to meet face to face.
