Post Office Ltd is proposing to relocate Fettercairn Post Office to the Fettery Shop and wants your comments on the idea.
The branch would operate as a Hosted Outreach Service after its move.
The new location is about 120 metres from the present Fettercairn Post Office branch, which is due to close following the resignation of the present postmaster and the withdrawal of the premises for Post Office use. The Post Office have said a Hosted Outreach Service presented them with the best possible solution to providing Post Office services to Fettercairn.
The service from the Fettery Shop will be operated, by the postmaster from Montrose Street Post Office, who will visit Fettercairn at fixed times every week. The new Fettercairn Post Office will operate two sessions every week and the operating hours would be: 9am-1pm on Monday and 9am-1pm on Thursday.
Post Office Field Change Advisor Brian Turnbull, said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Fettercairn and we are confident the Hosted Outreach service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.
The new Fettercairn Post Office may open during the consultation period.
He added: “This is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
