The first regular meeting of the Stonehaven Men’s Shed was held in the Community Centre, Bath Street on November 10 and was a great success.
The “Shedies” are meeting in the Community Centre as they actively seek a more permanent home. Around 30 folks came along for all or part of the afternoon.
Chairman Bill Allan reported that the favoured options for a permanent facility were nine months to two years away and as a result the trustees were actively seeking a temporary arrangement where the members could meet socially and carry out some limited activities during the day for a couple of days a week. This would ideally be a facility with a social area and a separate area for workshop with basic woodworking and mechanical equipment with benches. The group was asked if they were aware of any suitable locations and if so could they let the trustees know.
The next Men’s Shed meeting is on Wednesday November 16 at 12.30pm in The Community Room, Stonehaven Community Education Centre, Bath Street, Stonehaven.
This room has been booked for future meetings every second Thursday afternoon starting on December 1 until the end of June. (Except December 29 and May 4) from 12-4pm. Please come along anytime it is convenient. Free tea, coffee and biscuits will be available. For further information go to Stonehaven Men’s Shed on Facebook or e-mail to info@StonehavenMensShed.co.uk
