Stonehaven Folk Festival have now confirmed their 2015 line up and are sure the programme will be every bit as exciting as in previous years.
The Festival will run over the weekend of July 9-12 this year with guests including local favourites the Old Blind Dogs, French Canadian band Le Vent Du Nord and the Scottish super group, the Treacherous Orchestra.
Festival chairman Charlie West said: “This is perhaps one of our most ambitious line ups for a while with a wide range of music and song on offer from singing at the tradition Bearers concert to the very contemporary Treacherous Orchestra.
‘‘We are also very excited at attracting Le Vent Du Nord to the festival.
“They have a truly international reputation and are a stunning group of musicians and singers, sure to get your toes tapping.”
Also on the bill over the weekend are the Poozies, Salthouse and the Young’Uns.
Artist organiser Isla Duncan said: “We are still finalising some of the details but the Friday night concert will be a North-east showcase featuring a number of well known and up and coming local talent.
“Guests so far include Paul Anderson, Shona Donaldson, Carol Anderson, Cameron Ross and Ross Hull.
‘‘We hope to stage special performances over the weekend, premiering some new music inspired by the town of Stonehaven and the Festival.”
Another special guest this year will be Artie Trezise.
Artie, co-founder and performer with the legendary Singing Kettle, is hitting the road again with his exciting new interactive, musical, storytelling show, “Tartan Tales.”
A full programme of workshops will also be available but details are not yet finalised – there will of course be the ever popular World Paper’n’Comb Championships (Saturday) and the Aqua Ceilidh (Sunday).
