An Auchenblae resident is looking for cycle enthusiasts to take part in a sponsored cycle ride later this month raising funds for charity.
Gillian Siddons from the Mearns village is looking for families and people of all ages and abilities to take part.
The event will be raising funds for two charities which include the John Muir Trust and an educational program for Palestinian Olive Tree Cultivation.
Gillian is looking for around 20 cyclists to take part in the ride which will meet at the church hall in Auchenblae on September 26 at 10am. The route will be circular to Drumlithie and back with a soup and cuppa at the end of the ride back at the church hall.
Gillian told the Observer this week: “I last did an event like this six years ago and this route will have a number of different distances. It will go around the highways and byways of the Mearns to the east of the village. If you were doing the full route and wanted to change you could and same if you felt like you could do more of the route. It will all be signposted.”
Anyone interested in cycling, sponsoring or helping in any way should contact Gillian on 01561 320360.
