Local man Gordon Reid is putting out a Christmas plea to any Leader readers who may have some available free space.
Stonehaven Trailer Training Services driving instructor, Gordon, has been making use of the Mineralwell overspill car park as a facility to train people to reverse with trailers and caravans.
Gordon has enjoyed five years at this ideal area, in a gentlemen’s agreement with Aberdeenshire Council, with whom he has enjoyed an excellent relationship.
He told the Leader: “The council have been terrific and I’d like to express my thanks to them for allowing me the use of the car park.”
The overspill car park will soon be gone, in the development which provides new all-weather pitches and a correspondingly re-designed parking area.
Although pleased at what the improved facilities will mean for Stoney, Gordon is now left with the task of securing another venue for his training courses. With that in mind, he is seeking a tarred or concreted area, of approximately 40 square metres, where he can continue to provide instruction.
Without a venue in the local area, trainees will be forced to travel as far away as Musselburgh, in order to train and sit their B + E tests.
