Blythewood Shoe Box appeal 2015
Arbuthnott, Bervie and Kinneff Church are once again Co-ordinating their local Shoebox Appeal, which sends Shoeboxes filled with simple gifts to children and adults in Eastern Europe and further afield, who would otherwise not receive any presents this Christmas.

Bervie Youth Project
On Saturday September 25, Acari, the Comedy Hypnotist entertained a fantastic audience at The Burgh Hall, Farquhar Street. During the evening we had Horse Racing, Ballet Dancing and Onion eating.
Special Thanks to the “good Sports” for taking part and entertaining us all with your adventures.
Special Thanks to Tommy Russo from Stonehaven, the only man brave enough to go up against the woman of the Royal Burgh.
Caroll Evans said “as my final fundraising event in the Royal Burgh, I could not be happier, the Burgh Hall was filled with laughter from start to finish and everyone had a great night.”

Bannermans’s Butcher Shop Grand Re-opening
All residents may have noticed some work being carried out on the old Butchers shop, this is because we are delighted to announce we are to get a NEW BUTCHERS SHOP.
Gerald Bannerman’s Grandson, Chris Hall (32) is re-opening the shop this Saturday October 3 and there is already a huge buzz as Gerald’s pie recipes, along with others have been passed down through the generations.

Castle Lodge Care Home
On Tuesday September 22, the staff, residents, families and supporters of Castle Lodge said fair well to there longest serving team member.
Staff Nurse, Lorraine Cooper retired after 23 years of service. Residents family members, past and present, turned up with gifts in hand to give thanks and show appreciation to this popular nurse.
Lorraine has worked as Staff nurse at Castle Lodge since 1992 and was on shift the first day it opened as a care home.
Lorraine trained at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary before taking up post as Night Nurse before progressing to Deputy Head Nurse.
Lorraine, mum of two and Grandmother to One is looking forward to spending time with her grandchild.
Care Home Manager Sandy Wilson said “ I would personally like to Thank Lorraine for all her hard work and helping me settle into my role”

On Wednesday September 23, Residents enjoyed a lovely afternoon Tea, they tucked into Sausage Roll’s, Sandwiches, Scones and finished off with a lovely home baked cake.

‘Meet the Committee’
Bervie is run off the backs of Committee’s, so we would like to introduce you to our Committee’s and its Members.
Margaret Gray, Currently serves on the Royal Burgh of Inverbervie Community Council and is Leader with the 1st Inverbervie Cub Group, Margaret grew up in the Royal Burgh, went to school here and works in the Library on Church St, she has been married to Ian for 42 years and they have two Children.
Margaret’s family have had a long connection with Bervie and she is keenly interested in the history of the Burgh.
Margaret said “I feel that the area has been neglected a bit in the past and think the Community Council are working hard to bring back the revitalisation of the Royal Burgh, my favourite place is at the beach looking across the water towards Craig Davie and my favourite thing is the way we have evolved over the years since and before becoming a Royal Burgh”
