A historic house in Kincardineshire is to host a brides’ ball in September in order to raise money for two charities on the day.
Hudsons Catering is holding its inaugural charity ‘Hudsons Brides Ball’ in September at Elsick House.
The ball has been described as a chance to wear what is ‘possibly the most expensive dress you have ever owned’ whilst supporting the charities Microphthalmia, Anophthalmia & Coloboma Support(MACS) and Hospital Music Scotland.
Bridesmaids dresses, evening gown and Mother of the Bride dresses are other suggestions for people who don’t have a wedding dress.
And husbands are encouraged to join in wearing a kilt or suit.
The idea for the Ball came from a bride who accompanied the Hudson team to an award ceremony in Glasgow.
Originally having been hoping to wear her dress to the ceremony, but lost her nerve at the last moment.
However, over a glass of wine, the idea of holding a ball for charity would mean that she and many others could wear their dress again after their big day.
There will be a raffle and auction prizes available on the night, and these include Boys Day at Lochter, family portrait session with Janie Barclay, a weekend away to Perthshire and more.
Hudsons Catering director Suki Hudosn said: “We are hoping as many couples and their friends will come along as possible. Wear your dress and have a wonderful evening.
“It will be a great night and help raise funds for two small charities as well as give the ladies the chance to wear their dress again if they’d like to.”
It will take place at Elsick House on Saturday, September 24 at 6:30pm until late.
Tickets will cost £55, and that will include a drink upon arrival, a three-course meal and entertainment.
Tickets are available from 01224 791100, and donations are welcome from anyone unable to attend on the same number or by emailing email@example.com.
