Last chance for a midnight swim this Wednesday

Midnight swims have proved popular this season.

With local school holidays due to finish on Tuesday August 18, Stonehaven Heated Open Air Pool will be reverting to its low season programme. This means that this week’s Midnight Swim, on Wednesday August 12, will be the last until 2016.

This summer’s midnight swims have been particularly successful, with upwards of 200 people enjoying swimming under the stars to the beat of Stephen Jackson’s disco.

Vice-Chair of the Friends of the Pool, David Culshaw said: “we are absolutely delighted that so many people have been enjoying our Midnight Swims this season. However, we are aware that this has meant some people have had to queue for up to 20 minutes to buy their tickets. Unfortunately, due to the layout of our Listed Building, we only have one ticket window. We would therefore ask everyone coming to this last Midnight Swim of the season to pay in cash if they can, ideally having the exact amount or small notes needing less change. That way, the queue will move faster and everyone should get into the pool more quickly.”

Midnight swim tickets are priced at £6.90 for adults, £4.75 for juniors, concessions and spectators and £18 for a family of four.

Although opening times will be changing from Tuesday August 18, the Pool is open daily until Sunday September 6 and tickets are still valid all day. Times of special sessions, including quiet swims and kids’ inflatables, and opening hours can be checked easily on their website:
