The November meeting of Laurencekirk and District Inner Wheel was held at the Panmuir Arms, Edzell, where the members were treated to a feast for eyes and senses by speaker Isobel Luke from Brechin.
Isobel is a very skilled and creative needlewoman, whose talents range widely over a number of crafts: Quilting, various styles of lace making, tatting, which she learnt to do when she was eight years old, cross stitch, and appliqué to name a few.
Many of these crafts Isobel has taught herself, and she readily and enthusiastically shared her accumulated knowledge with us, bringing many examples of her beautiful work. These included quilted hangings and bedspreads, pictures, appliquéd cushions over-embroidered with gold and silver, delicate lace collars, even some handcrafted necklaces.
Isobel is an admired and respected member of the Montrose Embroiderers Guild.
Members thoroughly enjoyed seeing her work, and she provided ample inspiration to ‘have a go’!
President Cathleen Murray proposed thanks.
