A care home in Laurencekirk did not let rainy weather dampen the mood when they hosted an open day as part of a national initiative.
Burnside Care Home, on Borrowmuirhill Road, took part in the UK-wide Care Home Open Day on Friday, June 17.
The national campaign saw care homes across the country open their doors and welcome their local communities.
The theme of the day was a celebration in honour of the Queen’s 90th birthday which occurred earlier in the month.
The day included a tour of the home as well as musical entertainment and refreshments.
Marion Gordon, care manager, said: “We wanted to take this opportunity to show local people what care homes in their communities are about and demonstrate that they can be places of fun, laughter and good cheer.
“We were delighted that so many accepted our invitation. A good time was had by all and we look forward to doing the same again next year.”
Burside Care Home is a purpose-built facility and looks out to the open countryside and landscapes.
