Over 50? Then Why Not Take Up The Discovery Challenge?
More and more people are joining their local Discovery Group - an exciting and rewarding adventure for anyone aged 50 or over, regardless of state of health or even disability. At present the oldest Discoverer is over 80!!
The Challenge is to discover:

* new strengths and hidden talents * new interests

* new life in old interests * to meet new and interesting people

* the joy of unexpected achievement * the satisfaction of doing something for others as well as yourself

Discovery Award Scotland is a registered Scottish Charity SCO 54545. It is non-competitive, and you progress at your own pace and within your own capabilities. The range of activities is as vast as your imagination and will challenge you to levels you may not think yourself capable of - whether it be Community Service, a Hobby or Interest, a Recreational Pursuit or a Journey of Discovery.
So .... are you ready to take up the Discovery challenge ?

Discovery Award is supported locally by Aberdeenshire Council’s Community Learning & Development Service based in Mearns Community Centre. For more information please get in touch with Julie-Anne on 01561 378298.

An information event about Discovery Award is being held in

Mearns Community Centre on Tuesday, March 19, from 2 – 3.30pm. This will be a friendly meeting to tell people what it is all about and encourage people to join the group. There will, of course, be a cup of tea! All welcome.

If you are not able to come to the meeting in Laurencekirk, we may be able to come to your village in the Mearns area.

Please get in touch if you would like to discuss this possibility. We could visit sheltered housing complexes or attend meetings and groups that run for people aged over 50.
