With the stalls now packed away and muscles relaxed, Stonehaven and District Lions Club would like to praise the community.
The club’s roar of approval follows continued support which was once again forthcoming at this years Feein’ Market.
Craig Bunyan, of the Lions, said: “The day kicked off with young Finlay opening up the event and from there it just got bigger and better - with the sun shining through all the way to the finish as The Tribe ended the event with everyone dancing in the square.”
Music was played throughout the day and there was even the return of the traditional arm wrestling, with ‘Mighty Stev’ ‘taking off the prized Bottle of Malt donated by Dunnottar Wines.
Local school children made almost 200 entries for the Commenwealth Games-themed poster competition with first place being picked by Finlay and going to Jenna Paterson, second to Sophie Thomson and Third to Jessica Woof.
Tony Bilson, of the Lions, presented their prizes.
Craig added: “The Lions wish to thank everyone who played a part in making the day a success and special mention goes to the Mearns Leader for all the publicity and coverage, Douglas F Mitchell Ltd for the stage trailer, Rugby Club for set up and de-rig, Economove for stall transport, Norman Mackay- Aitken Group- for barrier transport, Complete Fire and Safety Solutions Ltd, Neptune, Stonehaven Engineering and Whitaker Engineering, all stall holders and performers and, most of all, to the people of the Stonehaven and wider district.
“The Lions hoped you enjoyed the day and thank you all for helping others. Have a great summer and see you at the Folk Festival.”
