Auchenblae will be celebrating National Poetry Day next week with it’s annual evening of poetry to be held in West Mearns Parish church.
The evening will take place on October 8 at 7.30pm with all invited to take part in the celebration of national poetry day.
The event which will finish around 9pm is free.
The evening will be introduced by Peter Morriss, published writer and poet in the Mearns.
Peter said that the area is full of poetry and invited everyone along to the event.
He said: “Come along and read your favourite poem or you can have someone to read them for you. Come along and share your own poems written by yourself or someone you know.”
The theme for poems this year, is ‘LIGHT’
Peter added: “Kincardineshire and the Mearns is full of wonderful poetry waiting to be shared on National Poetry Day.
The evening will be followed by Tea/coffee and a fine piece.
“Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a warm friendly evening of poetry in celebration of National Poetry Day 2015 in the church hall, Auchenblae 7.30pm to 9pm October 8.”
