A new-style main branch at Stonehaven Post Office in the SPAR shop on Allardice Street will open for business next week.
The service, which launches at 1pm next Thursday, April 16, will have three counter positions; two screened and an open-plan Post Office terminal by the shop’s retail till.
Customers can access a wide range of Post Office and mail services, including special delivery, local collect, home shopping returns, online banking cash deposits and withdrawals.
The screened position will open from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday, with selected Post Office products and services available from the open-plan counters during shop opening hours which are 7am to 10pm Monday to Sunday.
Other services include withdrawals using a Post Office Card Account, sending funds abroad using Moneygram, and customers can pay bills, pre-order travel money, apply for travel insurance and top up mobile phones.
Anne Clark, area manager, said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.
She added: “We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the community will be popular.
“The modernisation is part of a major Government investment programme that is enabling us to continue investing in the Post Office network and to map out a bold growth strategy through to the end of the decade.”
Stonehaven Post Office will close at 5.30pm on Monday, April 13, for the refurbishment to take place. During the short period of closure, before the refurbished branch is operational, Post Office services may be accessed from Arduthie Post Office, Kirkton Road, Stonehaven, and Portethen Post Office, Rowanbank Road, Portlethen.
