The Mearns Leader Facebook page took social media followers on a trip down memory lane last Friday, when Deputy Editor Rachel Campbell came across an old photograph of the much loved Stonehaven hotel, The Commodore.
The Commie, as it was affectionately known is sadly no longer a part of the town’s landscape, having been replaced by flats several years ago.
However, the reaction on social media from the photograph proved it certainly hasn’t disappeared from locals’ memories.
Comments included: “I worked on front reception here got engaged here got married here and bought a flat here when they knocked it down, I got thousands of fantastic memories of the (commie) Commodore Hotel brilliant picture.” Lorraine Marshall.
Alexs Soutar said: “Stoney ain’t been the same since, that place made every bar in Stoney busy, we need some life back into Stonehaven, it is becoming a depressing place!”
