Stonehaven Allotments will hold an open day this Sunday (September 9) from 12pm.
Since the allotments opened in March 2011 there has been great public interest in the scheme. The open day will give poeple a chance to see around the allotments and find out what has been going on there.
A produce stall will be available on the day. Everything on the table will have been home grown on the allotments.
Chairman Neil Westland said: “The project at Baird Park has been a great success. Members are now seeing the “fruits of their labours” and local folk passing by are often curious and take an interest in what is being grown and how they are brought on through the various methods. The open day offers an ideal opportunity for people to come along and have a look round. I just hope the weather is kind to us as watering has not been such a problem this year”
A cup of tea and a sandwich is on offer to those who want to chat to Association members. The Association has also been running a “Diamond Draw” to raise funds to purchase quantities of dung and the likes, and carry out improvements on the site etc. The draw will be made at 2.00pm by Councillor Wendy Agnew.
