The RNLI is encouraging as many people as possible to take part in its May fundraiser.

A mayday is an urgent call for help. Usually, RNLI lifesavers answer mayday calls and go to rescue others, but this May, with a busy summer on the way, it’s the RNLI that’s looking for help.

The Mayday Mile is a way to answer its call. Cover the distance however you like – alone or with a friend, just once or every day for a week, in wellies or on a unicycle. It’s up to you. Those taking part will be helping RNLI lifesavers rescue others, and to come home safely, by funding everything from first aid training to breathable kit to enable crews to keep their cool.
