Plans have been lodged this week for a 4000sqm supermarket, petrol station and car park to be built in Stonehaven.
The Sluie Estate Trust have lodged their plans for New Mains of Ury South which would see a single story supermarket being built.
The design and aspect statement available on the planning section of Aberdeenshire council’s website states: “The foodstore is proposed as a single storey unit with a simple portal frame with an upstand to a low pitched roof to present a consistent parapet level to all sides of the building. The entrance to the building is flagged up by a slated roof feature with an associated signage zone which provides a traditional aesthetic to the site which is augmented by the use of extensive areas of timber and glazed areas to the frontage.
“The form of the layout is consistent with most foodstore sites in that there is an easily accessible and legible car park in the foreground with a petrol filling station positioned to serve both customers exiting and entering the site on the access road to the car park. For visibility purposes the foodstore frontage and the petrol filling station are prominent from the B979 access road.”
Over 100 people visited the pre application consultation held in St Bridget’s Hall in Stonehaven back in April.
The application is currently open to public comments on the Aberdeenshire Council’s website under planning.
