Police have appealed for witnesses following a number of thefts in the Stonehaven and Durris areas during the early hours of Friday, November 4.

A number of garages were entered and property stolen. A number of these garages had been left unlocked.

Officers are also making enquiries into a housebreaking which happened at a remote property between 6.10am and 6.30pm on Monday, November 7. Personal items worth a mid four-figure sum of money were stolen.

Sergeant Rod Smith said: “We are appealing to anyone who has seen anything suspicious around the times stated to get in touch with us.

“In addition we would urge homeowners to remain vigilant and secure their property when possible and install suitable security for the area. In order to identify stolen property, we would ask homeowners to mark their property and take photographs of larger/ more expensive items. Some of the items stolen include mountain bikes. We would also urge people to contact police if they are offered items for sale at prices which seem too good to be true.

“Anyone who has any information or saw anything suspicious should contact Police Scotland on 101 or, if they wish to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
