The Chapelton Liaison Committee met for the first time last week to discuss activity on the site of Scotland’s largest planned town and plans for the future.
The group has been set up to ensure continual dialogues between the developer, local residents, local and community councilors and council officials. They plan to meet four times a year.
The first meeting focused on activity on the site, plans for healthcare, education and roads infrastructure.
Lord Southesk, director of Elsick Development Company (EDC), said: “We share the concerns of the local community about the need to prioritise investment into healthcare facilities and roads infrastructures and we urge NHS Grampian and the Scottish Government to bring forward these investments.
A second Chapelton Liaison Committee meeting is scheduled for the end of February 2014.
