A North-east MP has been appointed to the UK parliamentary inquiry into collapsed construction giant Carillion.

West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine Conservative Andrew Bowie is part of a team of MPs from two select committees taking evidence on how the company’s pension scheme was managed.

Carillion, which held a number of UK Government contracts, was also one of the lead contractors on the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR).
