A family fun day in Stonehaven next month is sure to put a smile on plenty of children’s faces, but for one little boy the occasion will be extra special.

Finlay Sangster (8), a pupil at Mill of Forest Primary School, has cerebral palsy, which affects his muscle development and movement.

His mum and dad, Bruce and Gail Sangster, set up Finlay’s Fund when he was a toddler, to help raise money to pay for the expensive treatments and equipment which all help to make Finlay’s life easier and more enjoyable.

The family fun day, which will take place on Sunday, June 1, at the Scout Hut, is the latest fundraiser, and the main focus of the day will be the ‘Stoney Stroll’ - andd Gail is keen for the atmosphere to stay relaxed and fun.

She said: “Starting off from Stonehaven Scout Hut you can decide which length of walk to take part in then return to the hut for a fun filled afternoon with friends and family.

“There will be a BBQ to fill those hungry tummies, a bouncy castle for the kids (and big kids), raffle, face painting and refreshments.

“Come along and have some fun and help raise awareness and funds for a great cause.”

There will be an entry fee of £5 per person or £10 per family (maximum two adults and three children), and sponsorship for the walk is at the discretion of each family - sponsor forms can be obtained by emailing finlaysfund@hotmail.co.uk.

Registration is from 11am at the Scout Hut, and the walk will start at 11.30am, although walkers can set off after this time.

All children must be accompanied by an adult to attend the event, Dogs are welcome on the walk, but must be kept on a lead.

All of the money raised will be in aid of Finlay’s Fund.
