Stonehaven and District Horticultural Society Summer Flower Show will take place in Stonehaven Town Hall on Saturday 25th August. Doors open to the public at 10.30am, with the presentation of Trophies at 3.45pm.

Everyone is welcome to submit entries for the show to win trophies and monetary prizes. Categories include: Cut Flowers, Pot Plants, Vegetables and Fruit.

There is a special section for Primary, Junior and Teenagers to enter an exhibit. The pre-school and Primary 1 section features ‘A Ladybird’ in which the youngsters will hopefully let their imagination run riot to create an exhibit made from fruit and/or vegetables. The Junior section (Primary 2 – 5) includes ‘A miniature garden incorporating a stream’. The teenage section (Primary 6 to 16years) includes a ‘Computer generated image of a Tree’. New this year, is a section to exhibit produce from the School Allotments.

The theme in the Floral Art Section is “Around the Town”. Entries open to all include “Market Day”, “Dolly Mixture”, “Woodland Ramble” and in the Floral Art Craft Class “Keeping Cool” - a fan featuring dry plant material.

There will be the usual sales table as well as a sale of some of the flowers and produce after the prizegiving.

All the details are in the Show Schedule which is available from the Library, Flower Shops or Kirktown Garden Centre, or by contacting Mr Forbes Bain, Chairman of Stonehaven and District Horticultural Society Tel: 01569 764042.
