Royal Burgh of Inverbervie Community Council
December 2015. A fairly routine meeting of RBICC rounded off the year, with some, albeit slow, progress on outstanding matters. A minor victory has been achieved with the installation of new waste bins in the Church Street Park and at the bottom of Trenchard Way. We encourage residents to use these bins and others to help to keep the Royal Burgh neat and tidy. We also reiterate our plea to dog owners to tidy up after their pets.
There was also praise and thanks given to the Bervie Gala team and particularly G.F. Bisset for the excellent show of Christmas lights in the Royal Burgh. They certainly give the place a festive feel and our appreciation goes to the volunteers who put the work into their installation.
On the subject of lighting, it would be helpful if people could report any street lights which are not working, especially with the dark winter nights. The process is quite simple and will allow Aberdeenshire Council to fix the failure – if they don’t know about it, then they cannot act. First, note carefully the location of the lamp post – the address of the nearest house, or ideally, look at the lamp post for a white rectangle containing a number (usually about half way up) and note the number. Next, phone Aberdeenshire Council on 01467 620981, stating that you wish to report a public lighting fault in Inverbervie, and giving them the relevant information. Alternatively, you can enter the information using the automated service on the Aberdeenshire Council website –www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk – and search for street light fault. Thank you for your help with this.
RBICC have also set up a new way for residents to contact us, via suggestion boxes located in The Paper Shop & Bervie Post Office. Here you can post your items for discussion, which will be brought up at our next meeting, and also pick up a copy of the latest approved minutes. We are always open to your suggestions and all relevant information about the Royal Burgh is welcome. You can also contact us via our web page at www.bervie.net/rbicc.php, by e-mailing at email@example.com or by speaking to any Community Councillor.
Our next meeting is on Monday, February 8 2016 at 7:30pm in the Burgh Chambers, above the library, in Church Street. We wish all our residents a very Happy Christmas and best wishes for 2016.
