A Stonehaven community group for children has raised hundreds of pounds that will be used to fund a trip for the youths.
Shepherds Hall Toddlers (SHT) recently held their annual Dress Up Sponsored Teddy Toddle on the morning of April 28.
It took place ‘around Stonehaven Harbour’, Debra Henry told the Leader.
She added: “The morning started off lovely and warm, then in typical Scottish weather, it quickly changed and the children ended up walking in the snow!”
Over £700 was raised on the day and will be used to pay for children to have their summer outing at Dizzy Rascals, Laurencekirk.
Some of the money will also go towards upgrading the toys and essential running to keep the group going every week.
SHT, based in Stonehaven, is a group for children up to three yeas old and has been running for over 30 years by parents and volunteers.
However, at the end of last year, the number of children attending had dropped to below five, and the decision to close their doors was made due to lack of funding.
But they have since reopened with the work of Debra.
She said: “I was saddened to hear the group had closed and decided to reopen it again.
“I previously helped run them from 2005 - 2008.
“With the help of other parents, we managed to build SHT back up with full capacity of children attending and we also now have a waiting list.”
If anyone is interested in being added to the waiting list, call Debra on 07837 560117.
