Biker caught at twice the speed limit

A motorcyclist has been charged by police with dangerous driving for riding almost twice the speed limit near Stonehaven.

Officers stopped a 31-year-old male on Friday, July 29 for travelling at 138mph in rush hour traffic north of Stonehaven on the A90.

He was caught as part of officers from the Trunk Road Patrol Group carrying out patrols on the A90 south of Aberdeen, focussing on early morning commuter traffic on July 28 and 29.

The officers utilised marked and unmarked police vehicles and over the course of the two mornings detected 12 vehicles speeding, five drivers using mobile phones as well as a number of MOT and excise offences.
