Stonehaven’s Den of Logie Road to close next week for maintenance

One of the main entrances to Stonehaven will be closed for four days next week while essential road maintenance is carried out.

The U90K Den of Logie Road, the first entrance to the town from the north, will be resurfaced and re-lined. It is an important road for the town, bringing traffic down from the A90 southbound to enter the town near it’s open air swimming pool.

Work to improve it is due to start on Monday, June 23 and run until Thursday, June 26.

The only way to carry out the work safely given the nature of the road is under full closure.

A diversion will be in place via the A90, taking traffic further south to one of the other two entrances to the town.

Aberdeenshire Council’s head of roads and landscape services, Philip McKay, said: “This is a well used road, not least by local residents, and although the closure may be inconvenient, it is necessary given the work to be done.

“As anyone who uses it regularly will know, the road surface has become worn and requires to be replaced and re-lined.

“This work will make a big difference to the road, improving visitors’ first impressions of the approach to the town and we hope the results will be appreciated.”
