Stonehaven Youth Girls U13 played Stonehaven Youth Junior Girls in the league on Saturday.
In a historic day for local girls football Stonehaven fielded two league teams for the first time in many a year.
The younger girls acquitted themselves wonderfully and the score was an unfair reflection on their efforts.
The first half was a battle with the younger team’s defenders Porter, Beedie, Denniston and Doyle assisting an inspired Holley in keeping the score down. However the experienced Grundy calmly helped herself to four goals and the power of Johnston plundered a fifth before half time.
The second half saw Tench get a deserved goal back for the youngsters.
Laing lashed in a couple as did Imray. Kelly stabbed in another, Porter coolly slotted one, Townsend waltzed in for a couple and an own goal completed the score. Magic Moment - the younger teams first ever league goal hammered in by Tench after a good move.
