Stonehaven Coastguard are looking for volunteers to join their team and will be opening their doors so those interested can find out more.
This Sunday (August 21) people are invited to visit the Coastguard at Stonehaven Harbour to find out what it takes to help out the rescue service.
Successful applicants will join a team that is trained and equipped to carry out search and rescue operations around the coast of the UK.
A spokesperson for the Coastguard said: “As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in helping a word-class organisation that is committed to preventing loss of life, improving maritime safety and protecting the marine environment.”
Applicants need to be aged between 18 and 65, have a full driving licence and live or work within 30 minutes travelling time form the rescue station.
