Residents from Kincardine and Mearns will head to the polling booth on June 23 as the date for the In/Out referendum was set this week.
Prime Minister David Cameron returned from talks in Brussels on Saturday and confirmed the date for the referendum.
This means those registered to vote have a little under 17 weeks to make their decision on the EU.
Some political figures have already declared their intentions on which side they will campaign for.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has said she will lend her voice to the In campaign when the vote takes place seven weeks after Scottish Elections.
Justice Secretary Michael Gove and London Mayor Boris Johnston both announced this week that they would be campaigning for Out campaign which has been dubbed ‘Brexit’.
The question will ask “Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union?”
Here at the Mearns Leader and Kincardineshire Observer we are keen to talk to people who have already made up their mind on the referendum.
