Wednesday, December 17, will see The Church Centre Cafe run in aid of Water Aid, and the usual refreshments will be on offer from 10-11.30am at Church Centre, King Street, Inverbervie.
Sing-a-long at Castle Lodge
Tomorrow (Friday) at Castle Lodge Nursing Home, Kirkburn, Inverbervie, join the small group which has been privileged to sing secular songs with the residents. No experience necessary, just a willingness to sing, words provided.
This is a 30-minute singing session and then enjoy a cuppa and a chat with the residents who really enjoy taking part.

“Woman of the Way”
Women of the Way is a group open to ladies of the parish. It meets fortnightly to learn more about God and discuss how members can apply their faith in their daily lives and to support one another. As well as studying the Bible, and a time of prayer, the group always have lots of fun at meetings. They have recently welcomed a number of new members, and are always delighted to have new people along. WOW meet in Arbuthnott at the home of one of the members on Thursdays from 7.45 – 9.45pm.

Bervie Youth Project
Saturday, December 13, sports activities from 3-4pm will be netball and basketball in Bervie Sports Centre, Kirkburn, Inverbervie, sponsored by Fotheringham Property Developments.
Youth Café from 7-9pm in the Herd Centre, Townhead, Inverbervie, sponsored by Bervie Residents Independently. Designed for P7 to young adults and all events are free. Big Christmas treats are coming on Saturday, December 20, with ‘‘zorbing’’ and a pizza party.

Family Hogmanay Disco tickets have gone on sale this week. Take your own refreshments, disco and entertainment from Ellie Deejays. Tickets are selling out fast so book today to avoid disappointment. Santa and his Bervie Play Parks Elves will be visiting this Sunday, December 14, at 4pm at Market Square, Inverbervie, then he is popping along to Gourdon Harbour. Take your Santa letters and hand them over in person to ‘‘the man.’’
Big shout out for a Santa
Inverbervie Parent and Toddler Group has been a big part of family life in the Royal Burgh for many years, a committee-run group who meet at The Herd Centre, Townhead, Inverbervie on Tuesday from 1.30-3pm for ‘‘bumps’’ to three-year-olds. First session is free as a welcome and teas and snack are provided. Toddler members will be celebrating Christmas on Tuesday, December 16, from 1.30-3pm with party games, fun and a yummy snack!

Links Park Community Trust (LPCT)
LPCT after-school football training club meets at Bervie Sports Centre on Tuesdays weekly. Coaching by LPCT coaches from 4-5pm for P1-P3 and 5-6pm for P4-P7. There is a suggested donation for sessions of £3, but give what you can. Boys and girls are all welcome to go down. 1st Inverbervie Beavers, Cubs and Scouts
The Bervie groups have now met for the final time this year with exception of the Christmas party which will see kids from Rainbows, Beavers, Brownies, Cubs, Guides and Scouts attending the Christmas party on Monday, December 15, from 6.30-8pm at The Burgh Hall, Farquhar Street, Inverbervie.

Bervie Social Club continues to meet weekly for a game of bingo, and they will continue throughout December meeting at the Burgh Hall on Saturdays, eyes down at 7pm, Membership forms are available from Alan Reid and his team of helpers. New members always welcome.
Bervie Caley Youth Soccer 7’s Football Skills Training
Soccer 7’s last training session will be this Saturday, December 13, from 10-11am for P3-P4 and 11am-1oon for age four to P2, £1.50 per child.

Bervie Surgery will be closed Thursday and Friday, December 25 and 26, and Thursday and Friday, January 1 and 2. Open Monday - Wednesday both weeks. Good time to order repeat prescriptions in advance of the Christmas Rush.
Brighter Bervie’s Artist Visit
Brighter Bervie’s artist Debbie Ryan has spent part of the week in The Royal Burgh, kicking off her visit at Inverbervie Pre-School. The kids were drawing designs and gluing mosaic pictures.
Debbie visited many groups in the Royal Burgh of different ages, The Craft group Knit and Natter, chatting about their thoughts and ideas, 1st Inverbervie Rainbows where they all made sun catchers with paper mosaics and she also visited our older generation at Castle Lodge nursing home where she was made very welcome and discussed local heritage and days gone by.
Saturday night saw Debbie visit the Youth Café and she had a great reception from all the youngsters, making wire and fabric sculptures, landscape designing and gauging the thought and wishes of the youth café members and volunteers.
Debbie was made to feel very welcome during her first visit to Inverbervie and is looking forward to her return in January where she will run sculpture workshops for different groups and generations.

Granda Reids Ramblings
On sale at Bervie Paper Shop, King Street, is Granda Reids Ramblings volume two, a local book of heritage, tales and trivia set in Inverbervie over the years. Just £5 will get you tales and photos of days gone by, written by local resident Mr Reid. A fantastic read for all ages, and perfect as a Christmas gift.
