Our volunteers enjoyed another morning of fine weather last Saturday for working in Bervie’s Voyage of Life garden.
Mary Finch, Jim Gillbanks and George Rattray tried out our prototype planter made from soon-to-be obsolete recycling boxes.
As the council switch over to the new blue-topped wheelie bins for collecting our recyclable waste, Brighter Bervie would like to get any undamaged surplus black and blue recycling boxes to turn into containers filled with nice flowering plants.
Please drop them in at the Voyage of Life Garden site behind the Church Centre on King Street. If elderly folk aren’t able to deliver their boxes they can call 01561 361350 and we’ll arrange for them to be picked-up.
When we start to distribute these planters around Bervie we’d really appreciate folk decorating them in any bright and tasteful way that you can.
Please be creative with eye-catching yarn-bombing, painting etc. Lets make these as interesting and varied as the dolphins were last year in Aberdeen.
We’ll be gardening again beside Bervie Church Centre this Saturday, February 28, with an earlier start at 8.30am to take delivery of more planters and compost from the Council Landscaping Services.
So readers, why not join our cheery band of helpers and bring along your pals - we’ll be looking for you.
