Bervie Caley Youth U15 4 Banchory U15 0
IN their second league match Bervie took on Banchory, who were relegated from the A league last season.
Bervie’s game was played at Milton of Crathes, Banchory St Ternan’s Juniors’ ground.
Bervie welcomed back Laurenson, Wallis and Cooper. From the start Bervie pegged Banchory back with Smith and Laurenson coming close and Laurenson came even closer when his shot rebounded off the Banchory post and was scrambled clear.
Bervie went in front when a cross from Marc Smith fell for NICKY LAURENSON, who slotted the ball home. Banchory forced a couple of corners which were well dealt with by Morrison and Montgomerie. Chris Dandie and Matthew Cook were pushing hard from midfield and from a couple of chances went begging with Stuart Smith the main culprit.
At half time Bervie replaced Stuart Smith with Adam Smith and McCombie with Craig McKenzie. Bervie kept the attack and were unlucky on a couple of occasions, with the ball hitting the bar and post. STUART SMITH replaced Laureson and immediately made it 2-0 with an 18-yard shot into the bottom corner. Bervie brought on Brodie Cooper for Wallis, who had done a power of running and from one of the moves on the left STUART SMITH slammed a shot high past the keeper to make it 3-0.
Cabrelli and Cooper on the left were coping well with the Banchory attack and from a Walker kickout the ball fell for CRAIG MCKENZIE, who rounded the Banchory keeper to slot home number four.
McCombie replaced the tiring Dandie with ten minutes left and Laurenson went back on for the impressive Cook.
A good all round performance by the players on a very hot Sunday at Banchory.
