Bervie hit eight goals v Dee BC

Dee BC 2 Bervie Caley U13 8

After observing a minute’s silence Bervie started on the front foot and scored when Morris nodded the ball forward for McLaughlin to run in and slot calmly past the keeper.

It was McLaughlin who got the second, driving high into the roof of the net from the edge of the box. Karpinski got the third shortly after driving home from close range. On his return to the side Morris created the fourth with a good run before slipping the ball to Thomson. The fifth came from the spot after McLaughlin drove into the box and had his heels clipped from behind. McLaughlin stepped up and drove the resultant penalty home for his hat-trick.

as a Dee defender tried to escort the ball for a goal kick, Anderson nipped in to win the ball and drove home at the near post for Bervie’s sixth.

Dee BC scored when a free kick caught the defence out. Bervie got a seventh when Avis found Anderson who shot through the keeper’s legs. The home side grabbed a second against the run of play when an early ball forward once again caught the Bervie side out. Bervie’s eighth was not long in coming though, Bland played a good ball forward for Wotherspoon to run in and slot low past the keeper.

standout performance came from birthday boy Cameron Thomson who controlled the midfield for long periods of the match.
