Bervie U15 begin their new league season

BERVIE’S first match of the season was played at Millbank near Alford.

In an even first half, Bervie went close when a Smith shot was pushed round the post and Walker made two good saves for Bervie.

Ten minutes into the second half, Donside took the lead with a shot from 18 yards.

Bervie equalised when McLeod headed on to Stuart Smith and he slotted past the keeper.

Bervie pushed for a winner and from a Cook cross, McLeod went close to scoring.

With Adam Smith and Craig McKenzie doing well on their respective wings, Bervie did everything but score, then they were caught out by two goals in the last ten minutes.

Bervie U15 4

IN their second league match, Bervie faced Banchory who were relegated from the A League the previous season.

From the start, Bervie pushed Banchory back with Smith and Laurenson going close.

Laurenson went even closer when his shot hit the post and was scrambled clear.

Bervie scored when a cross from Marc Smith was slotted home by Nicky Laurenson.

With Dandie and Cook pushing forward from midfield, Bervie missed a couple of chances.

Bervie kept attacking in the second half and hit both the bar and the post.

Stuart Smith replaced Laurenson and immediately made it 2-0 from 18 yards.

Stuart Smith then made it three with a drive high past the keeper.

Cabrelli and Cooper coped well with every Banchory attack and from a Walker kick-out, the ball fell for Craig McKenzie and he rounded the keeper to score.

A good all round performance by Bervie on a very hot day.
