First win comes v Kintore

johnshaven picked up their first win of the season after a convincing display at home over ex-premier league side Kintore.

Athletic started off perfectly and in the 1st minute a cross from Tringham found Beedie. He beat two men and squared the ball to Steven Smith whose first time shot found the net.

In the 19th minute Rausch was unlucky not to double the home team’s advantage when he hit the crossbar

In the 35th minute Rausch crossed to Hester who cut inside his man and unleashed a bullet of a shot but his effort came back off the crossbar.

In the 38th minute Kintore found themselves level completely against the run of play. A soft free kick was given away and a Kintore midfielder scored from 20 yards out.

johnshaven pushed for a goal to retake the lead. Hester, Ross Blease and Steven Smith all had good chances but couldn’t convert. In the 63rd minute they did finally go 2-1 up when Ross Blease scored with a header.

Johnshaven were causing all sorts of problems from the long throw-ins of Tringham, and only a great save from the Kintore keeper prevented Beedie scoring.

In the 79th minute Conal MacLaren extended Johnshaven’s lead when the ball fell kindly to him 10 yards out, and he made no mistake tucking the ball into the bottom corner.

The young starlet doubled his tally just two minutes later when Hood ran in on goal and squared the ball to MacLaren who had the simple task of scoring.
