Bervie u17 got off to a good start in this clash with with Ellon, scoring an excellent three goals inside 20 minutes.
The first was started by Darling who fed a nicely-weighted pass diagonally down the left for M. Smith who drove in and hit low into the left of the goal.
The next was again from midfield when Morrison tackled an Ellon player and fired a ball down the right for the lightning fast Bellu to run onto, beating the defender then turning the next and fired a cracking shot into the far side of the goal.
The third was scored by M. Smith with a free header from a Morrison corner.
Bervie had other chances and were dominating this game when a needless challenge from captain S. Smith resulted in him being sent off.
Ellon were starting to get into the game so Bervie swopped Buchan for Macleod, who had hopefully learned his lesson, and went to three defenders at the back and this seemed to settle the game down and fill the gap in midfield. Thus, a couple of minutes later, a Frater ball through the centre and over the top of Ellon defence was collected by Bellu who rounded a defender and the keeper to calmly slot the ball home in the 34th minute. Half-time 4-0.
Bervie started the second half in same formation and the game was pretty even but, after 58 minutes, Ellon got a goal after an unchallenged corner.
Bervie hit back when Morrison fed the ball to Bellu who ran in on goal and slotted home for his hat-trick.
As the game went on, Ellon were creating more chances and only some excellent saves by Walker in goals kept the score as it was.
Bervie scored again when a delightful cut back from Forbes was met by M. Smith for his hat-trick in the 82nd minute after some sustained pressure by Bervie and various chances.
Ellon did score again just before the match finished which was more due to the tired legs of midfield than anything else., final score 6-2.
