Fordoun were looking to repeat what they’d done in the Matrix Cup and retain the Piggins Cup.

The first half was a tense affair, Hudsons dominated possession early on without really troubling David Jamieson in the Galaxy goal.

Fordoun had a great chance to take the lead when Craig Thomson robbed a Hudsons’ defender in the box before squaring for Darren Cruickshank who blazed his shot over.

It was boys in green who took the lead when Michael Deans drove forward on the left and fired in a shot which hit the back of the net with the aid if a deflection or two.

Kevin Hector stepped up and made no mistake in giving Fordoun a two-goal cushion.

The game looked to be over as a contest after McComiskie’s 43rd goal of the season.

Hudsons did get a consolation with the final goal of the game as an attacker escaped the Fordoun offside trap to pull one back but it was too little too late for the Brechiners.
