Stonehaven travelled to Spain Park on Saturday to take on Banks o’ Dee as they looked to get the three points that could potentially put them top of the PMAC Superleague.

It was the visitors who had the first chance of note in the 9th minute when Anderson played the ball into the path of Shand but he sent his effort over the crossbar.

Two minutes later and The Hive were on the attack again when a counter attack saw the ball played to Cook on the left and his cross was cut out at the expense of a corner. The ball was fell to Shand but his header was cleared.

On 13 minutes the hosts broke upfield and the ball fell to Forsyth but he sent his shot over the top.

Stark in the Stonehaven goal was called into action on 21 minutes when a cross from the Hive left found Horne and his header had to be tipped over the crossbar.

Just after the half hour mark a Hive corner fell to Anderson but his shot was comfortably held by Smith in the Dee goal.

Biskup came close for the home side just a minute later when a ball was played into the front post but the big striker could only fire his shot into the side netting.

Armstrong came close just a minute later when the ball was played into his path however he could only fire his shot wide from 12 yards.

Bellu had a chance on 40 minutes when he broke upfield but he elected to lay the ball to Armstrong who shot wide of target.

Forsyth came close a couple of minutes later when he advanced on the Hive goal but shot over under pressure.

Biskup had the last chance of the half in the 45th minute when he latched onto a diagonal ball but could only send his shot wide of the far post.

The home side had the first chance of the second half and it was Biskup again who came close when he picked the ball up and sent a shot crashing off Stark’s left hand post.

Duncan tried his luck on 57 minutes but his shot was easily held by Stark.

Horne came close just after the hour mark when he sent his header just wide of the front post.

Two minutes later the home side broke forward and Horne was only just kept onside and saw his low shot blocked for a corner which the Hive defence cleared.

Duncan again had an effort on goal on 65 minutes from the edge of Hive penalty area but the shot was blocked and the danger cleared.

Irvine picked the ball up on the edge of the hosts penalty area on 72 minutes but his shot was held by Smith.

Biskup had a shot deflected wide with 10 minutes remaining but just two minutes later the hosts took
the lead.

A ball was played into the Hive penalty area and a penalty was given against Low who was booked for an apparent shirt pull on Alexander. Biskup stepped up and fired down the middle to open the scoring.

The Hive had a penalty shout of their own turned down on 86 minutes when Shand went down under a challenge but referee Bailey was unmoved.

Deep into stoppage time a free kick was awarded to Stonehaven 25 yards out and Shand fired a powerful which Smith spilled but gathered at the feet of Cook at the second attempt.
