Johnshaven travelled with a full squad to choose from and were quietly optimistic after a winter break in this relegation battle.
The away team dominated possession but could not turn it into any real clear cut chances.
Forbes had a shot just inside the box screw wide after good play from Bailey, and S. Blease had a bullet header beat the keeper but the referee decided it hadn’t crossed the line much to the frustration of the away team.
Half Time Score 0-0
Early into the second half Johnshaven conceded when a player found himself in space, beat 2 defenders and unleashed a powerful shot inside the post to give Trialist keeper Jamieson no chance.
Johnner made a flurry of subs as Cruickshank, Couineaux-Rice, Bell, Smith and Simpson all came on as Johnner switched to a more attacking 3-4-3.
Although looking vulnerable on the break the away team created openings and had strikes through R. Blease, Couineaux-Rice, Smith and Bailey but all were either straight at the keeper or wide of the target.
After 80 minutes the home team were reduced to 10 men and the away team almost immediately earned a penalty when Smith was fouled in the box. R. Blease stepped up from 12 yards but the keeper got down brilliantly to push it wide.
As Johnner pushed everything to get a goal Great Western caught them on the break and a striker managed to thwart a back pass and slot into the net.
