Johnshaven draw but maintain unbeaten run



Johnshaven stretched their unbeaten league run to nine games, but were left frustrated and disappointed in only coming away with a point from this fixture.

Johnshaven were up for it right from the start and Gibbon, making his full debut for the club, found S. Blease in the first minute but his strike partner could not pull his shot wide.

In the fourth minute, the home team did take the lead. Paton’s deep cross found S. Blease, whose shot was blocked but came out to Steven Smith who drilled the ball home into the near post. 1-0.

Johnshaven were made to pay the cost of not converting their chances when a long throw-in found an unmarked played in the box, and he had time to take the ball down and shoot into the roof of the net. 1-1.

In the 48th minute a good run down the right from Paton found T. Dalgarno but his shot was blocked by a defender.

Johnshaven took the lead again in the 50th minute.

A terrific cross field ball from Paton found Shaun Blease who controlled brilliantly before toe poking the ball past the advancing keeper. 2-1.

Johner made two changes on the hour mark when R. Blease and Beedie replaced Gibbon and T. Dalgarno.

In the 70th minute, Smith was forced off with an injury and replaced by Rodger.

Bon Accord equalised in the 75th minute when Johnshaven failed to deal with a corner and a player was on hand to find the back of the net.

Johner almost immediately re-took the lead when a Roger corner found R .Blease, but his header went just wide of the far post.

The away team were denied a lead for the first time when a long ball found their striker who controlled beautifully and turned to shoot, but keeper Findlater was on hand to push the shot away.

The home team did have a chance to claim the three points at the death when a corner fell to Scott, but his left footed effort sailed over the bar. Man of the match - L Paton.
