Stonehaven travelled to Bridge of Don to take on Hermes at Uniconn Park as they looked to extend their lead at the top of the McBookie.com Superleague.
The hosts looked the sharper in the opening exchanges as they put pressure on the visitors and almost found themselves ahead on 6 minutes but the goal was disallowed after the ball was judged to have been kicked out of Knowles’ hands.

Two minutes later the ball was played into Cormack who flicked to Jordan Reid before he lifted the ball over the defender but ultimately too close to Sweeney who gathered the loose ball.
With 40 minutes gone Hive broke upfield and Armstrong was fouled on the edge of the penalty area. Armstrong took the free kick himself but his effort was blocked for a corner which was ultimately dealt with by the home side.
In the last action of the half the hosts came agonisingly close to taking the lead. The ball was played wide and a cross-come-shot came back off Knowles left hand post and luckily for Hive was cleared from danger.
