Panthers Basketball Clubs’ Under 16 Girls National League team have made it through to the semi-finals of the Divisional 2 Competition.

This is the first ever season that any Panthers team has played at National level and the girls have done amazingly well in their first ever season.

The girls played their quarter-final at Bathgate on Saturday, February 25, and stayed focussed to the end; finishing with a nail-biting 55 vs 54 win against a very strong St. Mirren side.

The girls were up by 11 points at half time, but St Mirren scored three baskets without return to bring the game close by the end of the third quarter.

Finally with 8 seconds left of time to play in the fourth quarter; Jenny Bruce kept her cool to score the winning basket; St Mirren then put the ball out of court; giving Panthers the side-line ball and with 4 seconds left to play.

The Panthers girls kept possession as time ran out on the game.
